Nothing on a commercial upright takes more punishment over a season than the cord: caught under cart wheels, snagged on door thresholds, and unplugged by yanking on the cord itself rather than gripping the plug at closing time. Part 104284 is the three-wire replacement cord for ProTeam's ProForce commercial upright line, matched to the grounded wiring these machines run rather than a generic two-conductor cord.
Watch for three warning signs on a commercial cord: bare wire showing where the outer jacket has worn through completely, a split forming in the insulation anywhere along its length, and power that flickers or drops the moment the cord gets flexed at either end. On a machine cleaning an occupied building during business hours, none of those three is worth nursing along until a slower week.
Disconnect the vacuum fully before beginning the swap, and seat the new cord into its strain relief clip so ordinary tugging during use never transfers load directly onto the electrical terminals inside the machine.
