Part 835693 is the rear half of the outer shell on ProTeam's ProGen 12 and ProGen 15 uprights, the new-style version of the shell's rear half, which closes against the front housing to complete the machine's body. Together the two halves keep the internal assembly aligned and protected from the daily knocks of commercial use.
A rear housing that has cracked or warped rarely announces itself right away. What shows up first is usually looseness at the seam where it meets the front housing, a rattle that was not there before, or panels that no longer sit flush no matter how the latches are adjusted. By the time the damage is obvious from the outside, dust has often already been working its way in through the gap.
Because the shell is structural, a crack rarely stays a local problem. Looseness can show up well away from the damage itself, and a rattle that seems to move around the machine is sometimes nothing more than the rear shell flexing slightly under vibration. A split that starts small also keeps growing as the two halves work against each other with every bump the machine takes in service, which is why an early replacement is the cheap version of this repair.
