This rear axle (Part #102056A) is a replacement wheel shaft for the Kirby #516/D80. It carries the rear wheels and lets the machine glide across carpet and hard floors as you push and pull.
A bent or worn axle makes the wheels drag, wobble, or bind, which adds effort and can scratch bare floors. In severe cases the machine tips or tracks to one side. A straight replacement axle restores smooth, even rolling and easy maneuvering.
