Product details

Part F917 is a HEPA cartridge filter listed for the Hoover Widepath line.

  • Part: F917, HEPA cartridge filter
  • Fits: Hoover Widepath
  • Replace when: exhaust air carries a dusty smell or suction has weakened without another clear cause

A HEPA cartridge is sealed media, so it cannot be rinsed back to working condition the way a foam piece can. Once it has loaded up, the only fix is a fresh cartridge, and running the machine well past that point pushes fine dust back into the room instead of holding it, which defeats the reason for having HEPA filtration in the first place.

A cartridge that still looks clean on the outside can already be loaded through its depth, since the visible surface is only the first layer the air passes through. Tracking how long the cartridge has been in service and matching that against typical use is a more reliable way to decide when to swap it than judging by appearance alone.

Hoover's Widepath line spans more than one model, so check the model number on your machine or its part diagram before ordering, and compare the cartridge you are removing against this one for shape and depth.
