This is the original Rexair motor carbon brush for Rainbow DC2 and DC3 model vacuum cleaners (SKU: R1552). The carbon brush is the small block of graphite that presses against the motor's commutator to deliver power to the rotating armature, and it is one of the first parts to wear out over years of use.
Signs that your DC2 or DC3 needs new brushes include reduced suction, a motor that runs intermittently, sparking at the motor, or a unit that fails to start. Installing a fresh original-spec brush restores reliable starting and full motor performance.
