This 120V motor armature (Part #R1974) is the rotating assembly that powers the suction in Rexair Rainbow vacuum cleaners. The armature holds the commutator and field windings that the motor's carbon brushes contact, turning incoming current into the high-speed rotation that drives the Rainbow's separator and airflow.
Symptoms of a failing armature include heavy brush sparking, burning smell, weak suction, or a motor that runs rough and loud. Installing a new armature, paired with fresh brushes, rebuilds the motor and returns the machine to its original suction strength.
