This Simplicity Scout Pre-Motor and Post-Motor Filter Pack includes one of each genuine filter for the Scout and Scout Plus. The pre-motor filter shields the motor from fine dust, while the post-motor filter cleans the air on its way out of the machine.

These two filters guard opposite ends of the airflow path, and both clog with use. A loaded pre-motor filter starves the motor of air and can let it overheat, while a spent post-motor filter lets fine dust escape into the room. Swapping in fresh genuine filters restores airflow, protects the motor, and returns the exhaust to clean, keeping the Scout performing as designed.
