Onboard tools rattle loose the moment the compartment cover is gone. It is a moulded cover with hinge points that take a small load every time the bay is opened, so the two failure modes are predictable: a hinge lug snaps and the panel comes away in your hand, or the catch wears until the cover stands proud and no longer sits flush with the body.
