Nothing on an upright collects damage like the shell over the cleaning head. It arrives at skirting boards, chair legs and stair nosings ahead of everything else, and it absorbs each one. SEBO 5778AM is that shell in red, supplied complete, and it belongs to AUTOMATIC X4 machines built to X4 Premium PET specification. On the parts drawing for this range the power head cover is item 100, the group that caps the head as a whole.

Appearance is only part of what it contributes. The shell closes the brush chamber, keeps the air path across the roller sealed along its edges, and stands between a hand and a roller that may not have finished turning. Damage generally starts as a split leaving one of the mounting bosses, where the section is thinnest. From there the head gains flex under load, the trim line lifts along an edge, and a seam opens for dust to work into. A head with that much movement in it no longer supports the roller as firmly as its bearings expect. Ordering the cover complete means the repair turns up ready-built, with no panels and fasteners to marry together first, and that is the point where this job most often stalls.
