Turning the brush height selector on a SOFTCASE CE12 moves a moulded slider, and that slider is what carries the movement into the nozzle. Part 75086 is the slider itself. SEBO draws it at position 128 in the exploded parts list for the machine, in the same run of numbers as the support lever 75122 at position 130 and the pile adjustment axle 75095 at position 146.
A worn slider gives itself away through the control rather than through noise. The orange brush height selector, part number 75076OR, still turns and still feels connected to something, but the nozzle stops holding whatever setting it was given, so the machine either digs into a low pile or rides high over a deep one. Cracks across a moulded arm and rounding on the bearing faces are the two things to look for once the base is open.
