Turbo Cat 210 Wheel Sleeve ...

Product details

This sleeve flange fits onto the wheel of a Turbo Cat 210 nozzle, sold as part 7232. It sits between the wheel and the housing, keeping the wheel centered on its axle and stopping it from working side to side as the nozzle rolls across carpet and hard floor.

The T210 is an air driven head rather than a motorized one, the style fitted to central vacuum systems, where a turbine inside the housing is spun by the air the system pulls through it. Some catalogs list the same sleeve flange as 7232-X. On a head with no motor of its own, drag from a wheel that binds is felt straight away at the handle, since there is nothing driving the head forward to hide it.

Flanges like this are small, but wear on them shows up as bigger symptoms. As the flange thins or cracks, the wheel starts to wobble on its axle, catches slightly with every rotation, or drifts to one side so the nozzle no longer tracks straight under an even push. A flange that has split all the way through will let the wheel slide off its post entirely, at which point the nozzle drags instead of rolling.

Because the wear happens gradually, most people replace this part after noticing the nozzle pull to one side or hearing a faint click with every wheel turn, well before the wheel actually falls off. Pull the old flange and compare it side by side with the new one before reassembling, since a flange with any visible crack should not go back in. Spin the wheel by hand once the new flange is seated to confirm it turns freely and sits centered.

  • Part: 7232, also cataloged as 7232-X
  • Fits: Turbo Cat T210 air driven nozzle
  • Function: keeps the wheel centered and aligned on its axle
