A height setting only holds because a spring is holding it. Part 2929 is that spring inside the axle adjustment assembly of the ET-1 and ET-2 power heads, catalogued at position 106 on SEBO's ET-1/ET-2, DART and FELIX sheets, immediately ahead of the complete pile adjustment assembly at 107 and the selector knob at 110.

As the spring weakens, the head stops keeping the height it was given. Brush contact turns uneven, one setting drags on plush carpet while the next barely reaches the fibers, and the selector loses the crisp step from one position to the next. Because the part is buried in the adjustment group, it is usually renewed while the head is already stripped on the bench, alongside whichever selector knob the machine carries: 2931GS in gray black, 2931HG in light gray, 2931SB in silver. Where the whole group is tired rather than just the spring, SEBO sells the assembly complete as 2316GS or, for light gray machines, 2316HG.
