The straight tee PVC vacuum connector (SKU 511) is a 3-way fitting for central vacuum pipe — and one to specify sparingly. MD is candid about this fitting: they advise against using it anywhere in a central vacuum layout unless there is truly no other option. A straight tee has poor airflow characteristics compared with a wye, and when it serves two inlet valves mounted back to back, debris collects behind the door of the opposite valve.
MD keeps it in the catalog because occasionally a layout leaves no alternative, and when that happens you want the genuine fitting rather than an improvised joint. For every other junction, choose a 45 wye (SKU 509) instead.
