Part 440014935 is the power switch for the Hoover CH54115 and CH54113 commercial uprights, the component behind the on/off control that carries line voltage to the motor. Both machines are HushTone models, Hoover's quiet commercial upright line, with the CH54113 running a 13 inch brush roll and the CH54115 a 15 inch one.
Commercial machines put this switch through far more actuations per week than a residential vacuum sees in months, which is why it is one of the more common repairs on these models. A worn switch shows up as a machine that needs the switch worked more than once to catch, or one that cuts power when the housing flexes during use. If the cord and plug check out fine and the motor runs when jumped directly, the switch is the remaining likely cause.

Swapping the switch is a wire-for-wire job: label or photograph the lead positions before disconnecting the old switch, then transfer them one at a time to the new one so nothing gets crossed. A switch wired out of position can still click without completing the circuit to the motor. Keep the old switch on hand until the new one is confirmed working.
