Switching that has gone vague is worth tracing to the lever before anything electrical is suspected. Part 2605 is the switch lever for the SEBO ELECTRONIC 370, and it is the component your finger loads every time the machine is started or stopped.
Its job is purely mechanical: it turns a press at the outside of the housing into a definite movement at the switch behind it. Levers wear at the pivot and fatigue along the arm, and either fault lets the travel go slack so the switch is no longer driven fully to one position or the other. What the owner sees is a vacuum that runs, then does not, depending on exactly where and how hard the control is pressed, and that is very easily mistaken for a failing board or a bad cord.
A new lever brings back a firm, definite on and off action for a fraction of the work of an electrical repair. If the fault survives the change, the next two items to look at are the micro switch support 2624, which holds the switch square to whatever trips it, and the electronic controller 2572ER. Work the mechanism slowly by hand once the lever is in and listen for a clean click through the full travel before the covers go back on.
