Cable color is the whole story here. SEBO built the ET-1 neck in more than one specification, and 2362F2GS is the light gray version with the shorter lead, 36 in. long, delivered as a finished assembly with the cable already threaded through the pivot and terminated.
What the neck does: it carries the wand-to-head articulation so the head can recline and track the floor, and it routes the brush motor supply through that moving joint. Because the joint moves every time the machine is steered, both halves of the job wear. A cracked or slack housing makes the steering vague and the head wander; a chafed lead makes the brush cut in and out, usually at one particular point in the handle's arc. Changing the assembly settles both faults at once rather than leaving one to reappear a month later.
Before ordering, measure the lead on the machine and note its color, because the black 46 in. version is a different part, 2362F1GS, and the two are not interchangeable. SEBO's own listing associates this specification with its 9942F2 ET-1 head. Both the switched and the unswitched ET-1 builds are covered by this number, so the switch variant is not the deciding factor here; the cable is.
