Product details

This Decovac temporary cover, part TF020101, seals a roughed-in central vacuum wall inlet until the finished valve and trim are ready to install. It caps the opening during construction or renovation, closing off the pipe behind it.

Drywall dust, paint overspray, and general jobsite debris can find their way into an open inlet during a build, and once that debris is inside the pipe it is hard to fully clear out. Capping the opening keeps the line clean from rough-in through to the day the permanent inlet goes in.

  • Part: TF020101, Decovac temporary inlet cover
  • Use: caps a roughed-in central vacuum wall inlet during construction
  • Removal: pulls off once the finished inlet and trim are ready to install

Installing the cover as soon as the inlet box and pipe stub are set means the opening stays protected through every later stage of the job, from framing inspection through drywall, taping, and paint, rather than only during one phase of the build. That is a small, inexpensive step compared with clearing dust or overspray out of finished pipe after the fact, which usually means opening up more of the line than anyone wants to on a punch-list day.
