Titan Carry Handle Screw - ...

Product details

Part 17-6410-02 is the screw that anchors the Titan T750's carry handle to its mounting points on the housing, and it is tested every time someone lifts the machine by hand.

Handle hardware carries load in a way most other screws on a vacuum do not. Every lift, especially the quick ones, loading a van or setting the unit down on a shelf, puts a jolt through this screw and the boss it threads into, and that repeated shock is a different kind of stress than the steady vibration most fasteners on the machine deal with. A screw that has been overtightened once, or swapped for a mismatched substitute that binds instead of seating cleanly, strips the boss it is meant to hold, and once that thread is gone the handle develops play that gets worse with every lift after that rather than staying stable. By the time the wobble is noticeable by hand, the boss underneath has usually already lost enough material that a plain replacement screw will not fix it on its own.

  • Part: 17-6410-02
  • Fits: Titan T750
  • Function: anchors the carry handle at its mounting points
  • Symptom of failure: play or wobble in the handle under load

Snug it down firmly by hand rather than driving it with a power tool, since the boss strips well before the screw itself would ever fail. If the hole already feels stripped when the new screw goes in, that points to the housing itself needing attention, not just the fastener, and no replacement screw on its own will fix a boss that has already lost its grip. Keeping a spare with the van stock is cheap insurance for a fastener this easy to lose and this annoying to be without.
