Product details

The Titan TCS-5525 and TCS-8575 use a low-voltage signal from each wall inlet to tell the power unit when to turn on, and part 8125-01 is the circuit board that reads that signal and switches the motor's line-voltage power accordingly. Without it, inserting a hose at any inlet does nothing.

Running the whole house on a low-voltage signal wire instead of full line voltage at every inlet is what lets central vacuum wiring stay thin and simple, but the switching still has to happen somewhere, and this board is where it happens. A relay on the board closes to send power to the motor the instant it sees the low-voltage loop close, then opens again once the hose is pulled and the loop breaks. When the relay contacts wear or a component on the board fails, the usual symptom is a motor that will not start at all, or one that starts but will not shut off when the hose is removed.

Circuit boards like this one are sensitive to static discharge, so handle the replacement by its edges and avoid touching the component leads directly during installation. Confirm the low-voltage terminals and the line-voltage connections are both seated correctly before restoring power. A loose connection on either side can mimic the same no-start symptom that led to the board being suspected in the first place.

  • Part: Titan 8125-01, circuit board assembly with relay
  • Fits: Titan TCS-5525, TCS-8575
  • Function: reads the low-voltage inlet signal and switches motor power on and off
  • Symptoms of failure: motor will not start, or will not stop, when a hose is inserted or removed

Before replacing the board, check the low-voltage wiring at the inlet and along the run for a break. A cut low-voltage wire produces the same no-start symptom as a failed relay and costs nothing to rule out first.
