This is a replacement tangential electro-motor built for 240V central vacuum power units, part FMCY034301, supplied with connection wires already attached so it drops into the wiring harness without splicing new leads. The motor's profile measures 3.2 in., which sets how much clearance it needs inside the canister.

A tangential motor draws air through the fan and discharges it off to one side of the housing rather than straight through the shaft, a layout used across central vacuum power units built to run quietly over long duty cycles.
