Trovac Utility Inlet Valve ...

Product details

This utility inlet valve is a white plastic central vacuum wall inlet built with a contact, the small internal switch that signals the power unit whenever a hose goes into the inlet, telling it to start running. Utility inlets like this one are usually mounted in a garage, workshop or basement rather than a living area, giving a hose its own dedicated connection point away from the main household inlets.

  • Type: utility inlet valve with contact
  • Material: white plastic
  • Use: garage, workshop and basement connection points

Contact inlets are wired into the same low-voltage signal line as the rest of a central vacuum system, so the wiring at this inlet must match the wiring style already used elsewhere in the installation. Because inlet contacts are not built the same way across every central vacuum brand and generation, verify the wiring against your existing system, or against your rough-in plan, before ordering part TF5586BV.

Keep the inlet's cover door free to close fully after each use, since a door that will not seat can let dust and outside air leak into the system at that connection point. A contact inlet that stops signaling the power unit reliably is more often a loose or broken wire connection at the inlet than a fault in the plastic housing itself.
