Product details

Vaculine's wall inlet door is a small hinged cover, about 4.7 x 3.5 in., made to close over a central vacuum valve opening.

With no hose plugged in, it swings shut on its own and keeps dust and drafts out of the connection; push a hose plug against it and it swings open, then falls back closed once the plug comes out. As a purely mechanical, low-voltage-only piece, it carries no electronics of its own. Years of that repeated motion, or a knock from furniture or a canister being wheeled past, can crack the hinge or leave the door unable to sit flush.

Swapping the door alone is a lighter job than pulling the whole valve, since the wiring and pipe stub behind the wall stay untouched, and the door itself unclips or unscrews from the mounting plate depending on how the inlet was put together. Order part TF5590-- once the current door is cracked, sags open, or has gone missing, and hang onto the old one until the new part arrives so the inlet stays covered in the meantime.
