Product details
This pipe strap secures a run of central vacuum tubing to framing and includes a built-in retainer clip that holds the low-voltage signal wire alongside the pipe, so both run together in one clean pass instead of the wire flopping loose or getting stapled separately. Part 765545W fits standard 2-inch central vacuum pipe.
Unsupported pipe is a noise problem as much as a stability one: central vacuum motors move a lot of air, and a long unsecured run can vibrate audibly against framing every time the unit starts. Spacing straps at roughly 5 to 8 feet along the run keeps that vibration from building up over the full distance, and clipping the low-voltage wire to the same strap rather than routing it separately means one less thing to fish or staple during rough-in, and one less place for the wire to snag later.
A strap that is too tight can also create its own problem, pinching the pipe enough to slightly deform the inside diameter at that point and adding resistance right where the strap sits. Snug the strap enough to stop movement and vibration without cinching down hard against the pipe wall, since the goal is support, not compression.
- Part: Vaculine 765545W, pipe strap with wire holder
- Size: standard 2-inch central vacuum pipe
- Function: secures pipe to framing while routing the low-voltage signal wire alongside it
- Mounting: two screw holes for fastening to joists or studs
- Spacing: roughly 5 to 8 feet apart along the run
Plan strap locations before running pipe rather than after. It is much easier to hit stud centers on the first pass than to add support later once the run is already cemented together.
