Product details

Part TF5532BV is a Vaculine reducer, catalogued by Trovac in the central vacuum PVC pipes and fittings range. It steps a 2 in. line down to 1 13/16 in. (51 to 46 mm), the size change some valves, inlets and older fittings call for on an otherwise standard 2 in. run.

Mixed pipe diameters show up more often than installers expect, usually where a system ties into an inlet or accessory built to the smaller size, or where an addition has to meet an existing run that predates it. Rather than replacing pipe, a reducer bridges the two diameters at a single joint.

Fit and cement it the same way as the rest of the Vaculine line: clean both surfaces, coat them with central vacuum PVC cement, and seat the reducer fully. A rushed or dry joint at a size transition is a common place for a slow leak to start, so give the cement time to set before the system is put back into use. Central vacuum PVC pipe and cement are their own standard, distinct from plumbing-grade PVC of the same nominal size, so pair this reducer with Vaculine or other central-vacuum-rated pipe rather than substituting general hardware-store stock.
