Product details

Part 19.2964-01 is the geared drive belt for the Wessel Werk EBK280 electric power nozzle. Its teeth mesh with the drive gear rather than gripping a smooth shaft, which is what holds the brush roll at a fixed speed even when the roll is buried in deep pile.

Geared belts last far longer than flat ones, but they do not last forever. The rubber hardens with age, cracks appear between the teeth, and once a tooth tears away the belt skips on the gear with an unmistakable ratcheting noise. Before that point the brush simply turns slower than it should, so the nozzle stops lifting pet hair and the carpet keeps its tracks after a pass.

Check the brush roll bearings and clear wound hair from the roll ends while the belt is off; a stiff roll is what chews the next belt as well.
