Two TBORFBATT batteries keep the wireless remote signal running in a retractable central vacuum hose handle. The handle uses them to send its on and off command to the receiver back at the power unit.

When a wireless handle's on and off button stops responding, or only works intermittently, weak batteries are usually the first thing to check before assuming the receiver or handle itself has failed. Fresh batteries restore full, consistent range on the remote signal.
