Product details

This is the Bissell Style 12 HEPA filter, part 2038037, for the PowerForce uprights. Our fitment data confirms it on the 6585, 6596, 68C7 and 98N4.

HEPA media works by being dense, and dense media loads up with the fine dust a bagless bin cannot spin out. As it fills, the machine has to pull air through a smaller and smaller effective area: suction fades, the motor runs hotter and louder for less work done, and the exhaust stops smelling as clean as it did when the filter was new. Anyone in the house with allergies usually notices the air before they notice the suction.

Hold it up to a light. If no brightness comes through the pleats, it has done its work. Media this fine is not restored by washing, so fit a fresh one rather than rinsing this one out.
