Carpet that still looks flattened after a pass is the usual sign a brush roller has given up. Part 50470ER is the complete roller for the SEBO 300 MECHANICAL, supplied with its brush strip already fitted, and SEBO lists it at position 121 in the 300 MECHANICAL parts diagram.
Bristles shorten with every hour of use until they no longer reach into the pile, and by then the machine is asking suction alone to lift what agitation should have loosened first. A roller with full-height bristles puts that agitation back, and on a medium pile the difference is obvious on the first pass. Hair and thread wound around the shaft do the same damage more quickly, because they hold the bristles down and load the bearings at the same time.
This roller is specific to the 300 MECHANICAL. The strip on its own is SEBO part 50415 for owners who prefer to re-strip a sound roller rather than replace the assembly, and the cover over the brush strip is 50352HG. If the roller is not turning at all rather than simply worn, look at the drive belt 5110 and the matched pulley set 5117/1 before ordering a roller, and at the brush roller release 50403HGER if the roller will not sit down properly in the head.
