The SEBO Brush Roller Release Ring (left-hand, with spring, light gray) is a genuine replacement for the Automatic X8. The spring-loaded ring works with the release knob to hold the brush roller in its bearings and let it drop free when you unlock it.

The internal spring loses tension and the ring wears where it rides against the roller end, so a tired part may fail to hold the roller securely or refuse to release it on demand. A roller that shifts in its seat throws the belt and scrapes the housing. Fitting the correct spring-loaded ring returns firm, repeatable locking.
