We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Suction dropping at the floor for no obvious reason gets blamed on the bag or the filter far more often than it deserves, when the real problem can sit upstream of either one, at the connection where debris first leaves the nozzle. Part 77491 addresses exactly that spot on Sanitaire ST-style uprights, pairing the rigid dirt tube with the flexible molded fitting at its end in a single kit.
Debris travels up through the rigid tube on its way toward the bag, and the molded piece at the far end is what makes the final connection airtight against the bag fitting. Being flexible by design, that molded piece is also the part most prone to hardening and cracking as it ages under heat and constant use, almost always somewhere buried inside the machine where nobody would spot it during a routine look-over.

Ruling this connection out before reaching for a new filter can save a swap that would not have changed anything, since a filter is rarely the actual cause when the leak sits at this joint instead. Tape offers no lasting fix on a fitting that flexes with every pass the machine makes, and because both pieces ship together in one kit, the entire debris path from nozzle to bag comes back sealed in a single repair rather than two separate ones.
