The fan draws air through the motor housing on 2000-series Eureka and Sanitaire uprights, and this Lexan replacement, part number 12988, restores that airflow when the original has cracked or lost a blade.
A damaged fan typically shows up as a drop in suction paired with a rattling or scraping noise that was not there before, since a chipped blade throws the fan out of balance as it spins.
