Hoover Rivet - Lexan Base A...

Product details

Small parts hold big ones in place. This rivet, part 32243001, secures the agitator retainer spring to the Lexan base on Hoover uprights, and our fitment data lists it for the Hoover 1030.

The retainer spring is what keeps the brush roll seated squarely in the nozzle. When the rivet works loose or shears, the spring shifts, the brush roll starts to rattle or sit at an angle, and agitation goes uneven across the width of the carpet. It is exactly the kind of fault that gets blamed on the brush roll itself.

Rivets are cheap and the base is already open when you get to this point, so it is worth setting a fresh one rather than trying to reuse a stretched original. While you are in there, look over the retainer spring and the brush roll end bearings for the wear that let the rivet move in the first place.
