This hose collar with locking tabs, part 012615BZ, secures the hose coupling on Hoover canister vacuums, sealing the joint so it does not leak air at the connection.
Hoover has used this hose end across a large family of machines, among them the Hoover 91, 404, 913, 1030, C1065, C1067, C1069, C1085, C1091, C1111, S1015, S1029, S1075, S2007, S3003, S3073, U4497 and U7019, along with further Hoover model codes that share the same coupling.
A worn collar loses its grip on the coupling, so the hose can twist loose or leak air right at the connection even though the rest of the hose is intact. Because the collar is a separate part from the hose itself, replacing it is a quick fix when the hose body is still in good shape, and it saves stripping a serviceable hose off the machine. It is easy enough to check first: with the hose disconnected, the tabs should snap down and hold rather than feel slack in the hand.
