What arrives under 8230ULER is a small assembly rather than a bare moulding. The part is the middle casing in gray black for SEBO's E canister range, and the pieces that work alongside it are packed with it. The factory drawing places this assembly at item 5 and notes that items 6 and 7 come with it; decoded, those two lines are the lid latch spring, number 7045ER, and its fixing, printed on the sheet as a 20 x 5/7 bolt under 8053ER. The casing suits the AIRBELT E1 KOMBI, the AIRBELT E2 TURBO and the AIRBELT E3 Premium.
Look at where item 5 sits in the drawing and the purpose becomes obvious. The bottom casing is item 1, the top casing item 22, and this band runs between the two, tying them together and carrying the mechanism that hauls the bag compartment lid down. Two things damage it: an unlucky drop, and the accumulated load of a latch being pulled tight several times a week for years. Either way the symptom is a lid that springs open in use, or one that shuts without ever drawing up snug — and a lid that does not seal lets dirty air past the bag instead of through it. Because the spring and its fixing travel with the casing, one order rebuilds the whole latching arrangement.
