SEBO Motor Cover for AIRBEL...

Product details
A moulded shroud closes over the suction motor inside these canisters. The number for it is 8289ER, and the AIRBELT E schematic carries it as item 13, in the run of entries that surround the motor itself.
Reading that run in order explains the job. Item 8 is the engine mount gasket, item 9 the 120 V vac motor, item 11 the motor support and item 12 a noise limiting cover, with this shroud closing the group at item 13. Between them they hold the motor still, keep it quiet and keep the air moving along the route the design intends. Crack the shroud, or refit it carelessly, and air can loop inside the housing instead, which hands the motor a shorter path than the one running through the bag at item 21 and the pre-motor filter box at item 20.
Take care over which of those covers you are ordering. The noise limiting cover at item 12 is 8220ER and is a different moulding altogether, despite sitting alongside this one and looking like part of the same assembly. Item 13, 8289ER, is the motor cover proper. It is also the part most likely to be broken by the motor job itself, cracked on the way out rather than worn out in service, so it is worth having on the bench before the old motor is disturbed.
