We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Oreck built the LW100 Magnesium around keeping its weight down, and that puts real demands on the baseplate: it has to stay featherweight while still absorbing whatever the machine runs into down at floor height. Part 83000-01 is that baseplate, supplied complete with its overmold already in place.
Baseplates crack from use that has nothing to do with cleaning itself: a bump against a door frame, a catch on a stair nosing, or the machine tipping onto its base while being carried. Once cracked, the plate flexes at a spot that is supposed to stay rigid, which throws off how evenly the nozzle rides the floor. If the overmold starts peeling away from the plate, a harder, bare edge starts dragging across your floors in place of the cushioned edge Oreck built in.
Because this ships as the finished assembly and not a bare plate needing its own trim, the LW100 reassembles just as it came apart, with nothing extra to source or fit for the edge. When installing it, handle the plate by its rigid body rather than by the overmold, since prying on a soft molded edge is how a fresh overmold gets separated from its plate before it ever touches a floor.
