Oreck O-Ring Collar - LW100...

Product details

Oreck part 83010-01 is the O-ring collar used in the LW100 and LW1500RS Magnesium uprights. It is a small moulded collar that carries a sealing ring, and it does its job entirely out of sight until it hardens, splits, or goes missing during a strip-down.

Sealing parts are worth replacing while the machine is already apart. Rubber and plastic that has been through years of heat cycles goes brittle, and a collar that no longer holds its ring lets air take a short cut through the machine rather than through the carpet. That shows up as a vacuum which feels weaker at the floor than the noise it makes suggests it should be. Unplug the machine before opening it, and seat the collar squarely on reassembly so the ring is not pinched.
