Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Turn the height control on an AUTOMATIC X upright and this is the wheel under your fingers. Part 5174GS, molded in gray black, sets how far the brush roller drops toward the floor, which is what lets one machine work sensibly on bare boards, a flat commercial loop and a deep domestic pile without changing anything else. It is also the control most owners touch on every single job, which is why it wears out ahead of parts that look far more fragile.
SEBO puts it at position 132 on the AUTOMATIC X4/X5 exploded diagram and at position 141 on the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 diagram — the same wheel, two drawings. Inside it are the detents that give each setting its distinct click, and those are what wear. Once they round off the wheel stops holding position, so brush height drifts between passes, the setting no longer matches the marking, and the head either scrubs a floor it should be gliding over or floats above the carpet and lifts very little. A new wheel brings back the definite step-by-step feel that tells you where the machine is set without stopping to look down.
