We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Automatic height adjustment on an AUTOMATIC X upright depends on a small geared motor that raises and lowers the cleaning head as the floor surface changes underneath it. Part 5060ER is that servo together with its gearbox, supplied as one unit, and it sits at position 140 in SEBO's AUTOMATIC X7/X8 parts diagram.
When it goes, the head stops adapting. It rides high on carpet so the brush never reaches the pile, or it stays low on hard floors and drags. Some machines announce the fault with a grinding sound as the servo tries to drive a gear train that has already stripped a tooth. Motor and gearbox are matched to each other, which is why SEBO supplies them together rather than as separate items, and it is also why fitting a bare motor into an old gearbox is not an option.

Worth separating from this fault: a head that sits at the wrong height because the rubbing plate underneath it has worn through. That plate is part 5155GS and it is a much smaller job. The drive belt for the brush roller on these machines is 5110, and the locking rod in the same area is 5083. Checking all three saves ordering a servo for a problem that was mechanical wear elsewhere.
