Product details
Left-hand threads exist so that a rotating assembly cannot undo itself under load, and SEBO uses one here. Part 3037 is the left-hand shaft for the Duo brush machine, shown at position 57 of the Duo parts diagram and identified on that sheet as the left-hand-thread shaft.
Everything on this side of the drive takes its location from this one component. The gear wheel 3022 at position 55 turns on it, the spacer 3036 at 56 sets the gap along it, and the ball bearing 0222 at 58 carries it. Straightness and a clean thread are therefore the entire specification. A scored journal, a shaft with runout, or a thread that has been forced leaves those parts sitting at a slight angle to one another, and the noise, heat and wear that follow only build with use. The direction is worth fixing in mind before the spanner goes on: components on this side release clockwise, and turning them the way habit suggests is the most common way a thread gets stripped. The opposite end of the drive uses the right-hand shaft 3035 at position 61, so confirm which side is out on the bench before ordering. The two are not interchangeable.
