Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Sharp's BU-3 belt drives the brush roll on the company's upright vacuums, and part 17399 is the replacement. It covers a long run of machines: the EC-12SX2, EC-12SXT5, EC-12TBC, EC-12TX8B, EC-14TWT6, EC-14TWT9, EC-14TX6B, EC-14TXT6 and EC-14TXT9, along with the EC-S2720, EC-T2650, EC-T2840, EC-T4660, EC-T4765 and EC-T4840, and the EC-TU series from the TU2608 through the TU5965.
What you notice when it is worn is not noise but poor cleaning. A stretched, glazed belt lets the roller slip whenever the bristles dig into carpet, so the machine skims instead of agitating.
Look the belt over every few months and replace it at the first sign of glazing or cracking rather than waiting for it to break. Fitting takes a screwdriver and a few minutes with the bottom plate off.
