Product details
Toothed, not flat. Part 5379 is the 312 3M HTDII-6 belt that takes drive off the motor's pulley and delivers it to the Sensor unit of a SEBO AUTOMATIC X1 or X2 and on the SEBO 300 MECHANICAL and 350 MECHANICAL uprights.
These machines split the drive into two stages, and this belt is the first of them. The HTD tooth form is what makes that arrangement work: the teeth engage the pulley positively, so brush speed holds up under load instead of falling away the way a stretched rubber loop does when the roll digs into deep pile. Wear on a toothed belt looks different from wear on a plain one. The teeth round off at their roots, fine black dust collects around the pulleys, and the belt starts to jump under sudden load. What the owner hears first is usually a regular tick in time with the roll, or notices the brush bogging down on heavy carpet while the motor sounds unchanged. Left long enough, a tooth shears and drive stops altogether.
Belts are consumables and are best treated as such. Renew this one while the machine is open for any other work in the same area, and look over the second stage at the same time: 5110 is the belt that runs on from the Sensor to the bearing block on these machines, and the pulleys themselves are catalogued as 5117/1. The Sensor unit that this belt drives is 5382 on the AUTOMATIC X1 and 5383 on the AUTOMATIC X2.
