Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Under the short air duct on a Bissell deep cleaner sits a gasket sealing the joint where the duct meets the base, and part 2036815 is that gasket. Our fitment data confirms it for the Bissell 1383.
Rubber that spends its life between hot damp air and a rigid molding does not stay soft. It flattens, hardens, and eventually takes a permanent set in the shape of its groove. Once it stops sealing, the duct starts drawing room air rather than air from the nozzle, recovery drops across the board, and the carpet stays wetter than it should for the same number of passes.
It costs very little, and it is the sort of part worth renewing whenever the duct above it comes off for any other reason. The gasket is almost always older and more tired than it looks.
