Bosch Large Geared Power No...

Product details

The large geared belt for the Bosch EBK340 power nozzle, part 420994, as fitted to the BSG81296 and BSG81380UC canister systems.

Geared belts are used here because a power nozzle motor is small and the brush roll still has to keep turning through thick carpet. The teeth transmit torque without the slip a flat belt gives up under load. It also makes the failure unmistakable: teeth strip out in a section, the roller stalls or turns only intermittently, and the nozzle stops lifting anything out of the pile while the canister keeps pulling full suction through the hose.

Belts stretch before they strip, so replace it once the teeth look rounded rather than square-edged, even if it is still turning. Clear the hair wrapped around the brush roll ends first, because that drag is what wears these belts out early.
