We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Part 5574212 is the 16 inch red base assembly listed for the Sanitaire 899B pattern of commercial upright, catalogued under the Eureka name as well and built around a hex brush roll.
A base is the one part of a commercial upright expected to be destroyed rather than worn out. It is the surface that meets the floor, the front that meets the furniture, and the housing that holds the brush roll in place, and on a machine working every day it collects all three kinds of damage at once.
The failure that gets overlooked is the underside, because it thins gradually instead of breaking. A base can look sound while it has already lost the close fit that keeps air moving through the brush rather than around it, and the machine simply picks up less without ever sounding different. Running a hand across the underside for thin spots and flex is the quickest check there is.
Fitting new belts or a new roller does nothing for suction lost through the housing itself, so settle the condition of the base before spending on anything else. Confirm the machine is one of the 16 inch models listed before ordering, since the narrower bases in this family use a different shell.
