Kirby Belt Lifter Assembly ...

Product details

Kirby's belt lifter is the small black assembly that pulls the belt off the motor shaft when you park the nozzle or change a belt. Part 159217 is the version used on the Sentria-era Special Edition machines and the Avalir 2.

You notice it has gone when the lever no longer stays where you put it. The belt drops back onto the shaft mid-job, or the lifter refuses to release and you end up wrestling the nozzle off the machine. Both are the same mechanism wearing at the pivot.

It fits the Kirby Sentria Special Edition, the Avalir 2 and the Avalir Platinum. Have a spare belt to hand before you start, because the belt has to come off anyway, and one that has been running over a sticking lifter is rarely worth putting back on.
