The genuine OEM Kirby Fork Pin is the pivot pin that holds the handle fork to the nozzle, and it fits the 516, 517, 518, 519, 560, 561, 562, Dual Sanitronic 50, Dual Sanitronic 80, and Tradition. This small pin lets the handle tilt while keeping the fork located on the cleaning head.
As the pin wears it develops play or works loose, which shows up as a wobbling handle, vague steering, and a clicking pivot. Left alone, the slop accelerates wear on the fork and bushing around it. A fresh pin tightens the joint and returns crisp, predictable steering.
