Kirby Heritage II Power-On ...

Product details

Part 124384 is the small bracket that holds the power-on indicator light in position on the Kirby Heritage II, and it fits the Heritage II Legend and Legend II as well.

Brackets of this kind crack at the point where the lamp clips in, usually after years of heat cycling. Once one goes, the light either sits crooked, flickers as the machine vibrates, or disappears back into the housing where you cannot see it at all - which is why owners so often decide the lamp itself has burned out and replace that instead.

It is an inexpensive part and worth fitting while the hood is off for anything else. Nothing about how the vacuum cleans depends on it, but a working indicator on a machine this old is a genuinely useful thing to have back.
