This genuine OEM motor sprocket gear is the black gear-only version, supplied without a clip, for Kirby Model DE and SE uprights. The sprocket rides on the motor shaft and hands power to the drive belt and transmission that make the machine self-propelled.

When the gear teeth wear down or strip, the drive slips and the self-propel action weakens or stops, leaving the vacuum heavy to push across carpet. A fresh sprocket restores full tooth contact so power transfers cleanly to the drive again.
