This replacement Rivet secures the bottom plate latch on Kirby uprights, holding the latch hardware to the plate so it pivots and locks as designed. It is listed as compatible with the Avalir, Avalir 2, Avalir Platinum, and Sentria II, and serves the Heritage-style bottom plate latch.
A rivet that has loosened or sheared lets the latch wobble or fail to hold, so the bottom plate can sag or pop open, allowing debris to escape and reducing brush-height accuracy. Setting a fresh rivet re-secures the latch and returns the plate to a firm, correct seat against the machine.
